How you can become a Trusted Neighbor
We are Trusted Neighbors — local leaders who have come together to keep our elections free, fair, and secure. Like our elections, the Trusted Neighbors project is bottom-up, not top-down.
This is about country over party. Join the Trusted Neighbors project and learn how election results and processes are tested and verified through a series of checks and balances that YOU can volunteer to support.
Teams of Trusted Neighbors are working together to ensure our elections are free and fair, identify any weaknesses, and tell our communities exactly what’s going on in real time.
Once you sign up, a local State Lead will reach out to you for an initial conversation to get to know you and share specific ways that you can get involved. Our program rests on a simple idea: trusted local voices make elections stronger. You don't need to be an expert. You don't need to take sides. You just need to care about voters in your neighborhoods having a real say in the outcome.
As a Trusted Neighbor volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:
Participate in trainings and conversations with local election administrators to learn how elections work.
Serve as a poll worker on Election Day.
Take action to support local elections in a way that is right for you — whether that's by sharing accurate information about elections with your friends and neighbors, attending a public event, or writing an op-ed.
Election confidence comes from citizens who stay involved — who vote, who serve, who stay informed, and who bring their neighbors along.
What weakens our country isn’t any candidate or party — it’s the division that makes us stop trusting our neighbors. Trusted Neighbors is about choosing something different. This is not about politics. It’s about doing our civic duty.
